Chalmers Constructions Pty Ltd is a Torquay based concrete contracting/construction company owned and operated by Norm Chalmers, He has recently completed his requirements as a Registered Commercial Builder, Medium Rise Buildings, issued by the Victorian Building Authority, May 2017.
Norm has been working in the concrete construction industry for over 20 years. The company operates from purpose built premises in the Torquay industrial estate. Chalmers Constructions main jobs are in and around the Surf Coast and bayside Melbourne, though jobs are not restricted to these areas.
Chalmers Constructions specialises in concrete structures of various sizes, high end residential concrete works including basement car parks, manufacture of precast concrete panels, earthworks and Alpine concrete construction predominately at Mt Buller.
Ability to carry out the full concrete package, large or small
Chalmers Constructions has the ability, expertise and equipment to carry out the full concrete package in house from large concrete contracting projects and large scale earthworks to smaller concrete works as required.
Completing the full concrete package is achieved by owning our own equipment to undertake each process, the ability to assist with reviewing and potentially simplifying the design, discussing processes and methodologies, assisting with the sequencing of the processes to minimise risk, costs and time, and having the experience and knowledge to carry out the work.
Tight deadlines
Chalmers Constructions is the preferred concrete contractor for many Mt Buller Alpine projects due to tight deadlines for concrete building in the colder regions of Australia. Developers cannot afford to miss a snow season.
Chalmers Construction can complete the concrete works on time in conditions where the weather is often bad all year, with most sites on inclines and difficult access. The history of successfully completed jobs confirms the companies ability as an Alpine builder.
Research & learning
Chalmers Constructions is always researching concrete technology and new building systems, with the view of the practical implementation of these ideas. New ideas for systems of formwork, new methods and moulds for precast, ideas to simplify processes all lead to improved efficiency of jobs and reduced costs and risks.
